There’s a new talent that’s rising in the adult entertainment industry, and she’s a force to be reckoned with. Ember Snow is a 4’11” brunette bombshell that has quickly gained notoriety and praise from top companies such as Hustler, Evil Angel, Digital Playground, and Brazzers. Ember Snow is much more than just a pretty face and body. She’s a trained actress, and skilled in line-reading and is believable in her roles that’s she’s cast in. As if that’s not enough, Ember Snow has also made her mark in the webcam world. Recently, she was nominated for Cam Crossover in the YNOT Cam Awards. These days it’s relatively easy to get caught up in the hype and be disappointed later on. That’s not the case with Ember Snow: believe the hype and then some.
How did the adult entertainment industry get your attention?
Ember Snow: Like everyone, I saw all my first porn images through the internet. At the time I was still a virgin and living at home with my family, but the idea that people did this intrigued me. However, once I moved out and started being around people who were supportive of what I wanted to do, I found myself wanting to do this more than anything. I had a lot of sexual fantasies and desires I wanted to live out, and porn was the safest and least dramatic way to do it.
What was going through your mind before, during, and after your first scene?
Ember Snow: My first scene was with a girl, and that went as easy as it could. I’m very comfortable with women, and I find myself getting lost in the scene easier with them because there are a lot of moving parts involved as there are with men. When I did my first scene with a guy, I was far more nervous for many reasons. One is that my pussy is very small and so the bigger the guy, the more it hurts. My first guy was really long, but he wasn’t too thick, so I was thankful that I didn’t go home in more pain than I thought I would. But the other main reason was that I was really inexperienced with men. Would you believe that the second guy I was ever with in my life was in a porn scene? So, I was really nervous that I was going to screw the whole thing up. However, the way the scene was composed, I didn’t have a lot of time to think about it. I went from walking in the door to sucking his cock in less than five minutes. There was also another girl in the scene, so that took a lot of pressure off too, but still, it was tense for a few minutes there. After it was over, I was fine, and I have been 100% OK with it ever since.
You’ve worked for the top companies in the industry: Digital Playground, Evil Angel, Brazzers, and Hustler. What is it like working for those companies and what does it mean to you to be a part of such prestigious brands?
Ember Snow: First off, it is such an honor to be able to work with those companies. It’s hard for new girls to get in, especially ones who aren’t automatically the flavor of the month from the get-go. You really have to work hard, and in concert with your representatives, to get their attention. But once you do, not only are you getting a superior quality of work, but they invest in your career as well as by promoting you to the largest porn audiences in the world. That alone makes working for these companies such a pleasure.
You also produce, write, and direct, notably your first series “Girl Crushes.” How did you go about performing in front of the camera and working behind the scenes as well?
Ember Snow: It’s actually really easy when you have the right crew. Xander Porn has been shooting all these scenes for “Girl Crushes,” and we started branching out into shooting more traditional scenes as well. We shot a beautiful scene with me and two guys (Jay Smooth and Donnie Rock) that I released on Thanksgiving Day through OnlyFans. I have two mainstream writer/producer/directors that I work with, John McDougal and Sean Donovan, who help me with putting everything together and doing everything that I can’t when I’m performing. Having all these people working together makes my job a lot easier.
Do you have a checklist and goals that you want to accomplish in your career?
Ember Snow: Most definitely. I still have a few things I haven’t shot in the business, like DP, blow bangs and gang bangs. However, I have a lot of bigger goals that include filming my own features for both the porn industry and mainstream. So, it’s still early for all of that, but I’ll get there.
What’s the biggest misconception about you and the industry?
Ember Snow: I have tried very hard to cultivate this image in the industry of the “good girl gone bad,” someone who just doesn’t look like a porn star, yet they still fuck on camera. Even though I have made it known that I love doing kinky stuff and doing wilder and darker scenes, I’m still getting cast, mostly, in vanilla porns scenes. Meanwhile, the only two scenes available involving me with two guys are ones I self-produced and the TS scene I shot with Chanel Santini just came out recently. I’m hoping as we move into 2019, the industry will start looking at me for my wild side a little more.
Having the knowledge that you do now would you change or do anything differently in your career:
Ember Snow: That’s hard to say. There are very few things I’ve done in this business that I regret, and while I would have liked to have risen faster, that doesn’t happen for everyone. Sometimes, taking your time and learning as you go along is more beneficial than hitting the big time the first time out of the gate. So, no, other than a couple of regretful moments that happened (because I was new and didn’t know how the business worked), I probably wouldn’t change anything.
What’s the hardest aspect of being in the adult entertainment industry?
Ember Snow: Trust. Prime example: when you are walking into a room full of people for an event that has nothing to do with the adult industry, you have no idea who does and who does not know who you are and what you do for a living. Are people approaching you and being nice to you because you are you? Or because you are Ember Snow? Are people looking at you with disdain because you fuck on camera? I’ve developed a mentality that says, “Everyone knows. Just deal with it.” But when people don’t identify whether or not they know who you are, it can be a little nerve-wracking.
Is there anyone in the industry that inspires or motivates you?
Ember Snow: Many people. I’m a fan of porn from the 80s and 90s. So many amazing ladies from that period and I have had the good fortune to meet and befriend some of them. These include Nina Hartley, Christy Canyon, and Julia Ann. I also got to work with the legendary director (and former performer) Joey Silvera. Knowing that these people embraced this industry and have made a life out of it makes me feel more confident that I will have some longevity in this business. . . which is what I want.
The industry has seen countless performers come and go throughout the years. What makes you stand out from the crowd and how do you plan on being successful long-term in the industry?
Ember Snow: I have already started taking steps to learn and perfect my craft from behind the camera as well as in front. I have a lot of really cool projects in the works that should keep me busy over the next few years as well as building my own brand of performing.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
Ember Snow: A wilder side of Ember Snow! I just shot my first anal scene, and it was just released a few weeks ago. This is going to open up a whole new angle for me in the business. I want to attempt my first ever DP on camera and if that goes well, perform that more as well. But I’m just hoping that the industry will give me more scenes and characters that show the more adventurous side of my sexuality. And if the industry doesn’t do that, then I’ll make those types of scenes myself!
