Lush: Jamie Bauern

The modeling industry is filled with many beautiful and talented women, but one particular model happens to be unique and stick out from the rest. Jamie Bauern is passionate about many things, including modeling. She’s a star in her own right and whatever Jamie turns her attention to, she creates magic.

How did you get interested in modeling?

Jamie Bauern:  I got interested in modeling when I was around 23, I started out with acting and decided to start modeling.

Did you have a plan in place or set goals for yourself before you started modeling or were you more spontaneous?

Jamie Bauern:  It was a little bit of both, I started out with TFP (Trade For Print) to build up my port. I also tried to sign with an agency, but I didn’t get much of a response. One day I had someone approach me, he claimed to be a manager who traveled with a group of girls. It didn’t work out, however, I was able to learn enough on how to manage myself and become freelance.

Were there any challenges or had to overcome anything when you started to model?

Jamie Bauern: Yes, there was a lot of “No’s” and a lot of scams but that’s just how the industry is.
What do you like/dislike about modeling? My likes and dislikes are somewhat of the same, for example, I like traveling because of all the beautiful places there are to see, however, I also dislike traveling because it can be exhausting and expensive.

What inspires and motivates you?

Jamie Bauern: Coffee, lots and lots of coffee. No, honestly I will gage my Photographers and see what it is they are trying to capture what they like to shoot, once I have a pretty good idea or concept I will act out the emotions that I think are most appropriate. Music also really helps.

Social media has changed the modeling industry in a big way. What do you think about social media and its role in the modeling industry?

Jamie Bauern: I think social media has changed the model industry in a controversial way. It allows anyone and everyone to pursue modeling. However, because of that there is a lot more competition and has made Modeling over saturated. But with that said it also helps weave out the ones that are not willing to put it in the effort. So, all in all, I think it is very beneficial because as long as you are willing to put in the work, you can make a successful career.

What are some of your hobbies and interests?

Jamie Bauern: I love all forms of art: Acting, Modeling, Drawing, Painting, Writing, Sewing, Crafting, Building/Fixing. Basically, anything that allows me to create and use my imagination. I also love staying active, I am kind of “Adrenaline Junkie”.

What’s the biggest misconception about you?

Jamie Bauern: My nationality is always mistaken.

If you could get a message out to millions or billions, what would it be about and why?

Jamie Bauern: Honestly, “be respectful of others”, I know it sounds corny but I truly believe if there is more respect, the world would be a much nicer place.

What can people expect to see from you in the future?

Jamie Bauern: Hopefully in movies, but definitely a few projects of mine that I am putting together.
