International model, Claire Moretti, has graced the covers of your favorite magazines (Playboy), and she’s just getting started. Claire has that unforgettable look, and we’re willing to bet that she’s going to be a favorite of yours after reading more about her.
How did you get into modeling?
Claire Moretti: I started modeling when I was 19. I joined a small local agency and started working with some local artists mostly as an art nude and fine art model, with a little bit of glamour modeling too, which turns out to be my favorite!
What kind of experiences (positive or negative) did you have when you first started?
Claire Moretti: Um, the agency I joined was pretty interesting; think standard stereotype glamour model sleaze. I didn’t last long, I think I sent a fiery email and quit pretty early on, haha. Preferring to manage me.
Were you received well by others when you began to model?
Claire Moretti: I think I’ve always been a bit of a challenge for my parents in regards to my modeling. But as they say, “if you remain true to yourself and continue doing what you love, eventually everyone comes around. That’s what happened to me.
Did you have anything specific that you wanted to accomplish and/or achieve in modeling?
Claire Moretti: Well, being published in Playboy was a major goal of mine, and it happened last year, which was super exciting.
What’s been the most challenging aspect of modeling that you had to go through?
Claire Moretti: I think the most challenging aspect is dealing with myself, overcoming limiting negative self-belief has been and continues to be the biggest challenge. But I’m finding the more I achieve, the more I’m proving to myself that I can do it. I think when you give out that positive energy, you attract more opportunities, and right now, I feel like I’m right in the zone. Lots of opportunities which I’m extremely grateful for.
Do you look up to and/or are you inspired by other models?
Claire Moretti: Absolutely! Ever since I was a little girl, I was catwalking around the house, and I remember holding up the Revlon ads with Cindy Crawford and telling my neighbor that I was going to be her when I grew up! Well, not quite. I find Monica Bellucci a big inspiration, she just gets better and better with age!
You come off as a strong, confident woman. Did you always have that mindset or was that something that you had to work on?
Claire Moretti: It’s an illusion, haha! It’s something I’m not bad at portraying but something I’m always working on. I can actually be quite shy.
Besides modeling, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
Claire Moretti: I love getting out in nature. I love singing and playing music. I like painting too. Exercise and health are important to me. I love animals and spending time with family and friends. Also, enjoy a good vodka martini.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Claire Moretti: Well, today it involved getting up, having breakfast and coffee, then packing in between planning social media posts and a few phone calls. Then jumping on a plane for a shoot interstate this afternoon. I’m in a taxi to my hotel as I do this interview.
What motivates you to get out of bed every morning?
Claire Moretti: I’m grateful that I’m healthy and that I get to live in a country that has freedom and choice. Getting to get up and do whatever I want every day is pretty cool, and they’re a lot of people that don’t have that choice. I’m also a bit hyperactive and don’t sleep very well. That also gets me out of bed pretty early in the morning.
If you could get a message out to millions of people, what would you say and why?
Claire Moretti: Um, I would remind everyone that you only get one shot at life, so give it all you’ve got!
What’s your take on social media and how it plays a role in modeling these days?
Claire Moretti: It’s pretty crazy. Social media can connect you with anyone, and everyone can create lots of opportunities, but also distractions.
What can people expect to see from you in the future?
Claire Moretti: I’ve got some cool little projects coming up this year. The opportunity to work with some pretty amazing people in the industry, but I don’t want to give any more than that away.
