Model Rachel Van Zen

Confidence is one word of many to describe Rachel Van Zen. Rachel doesn’t pay attention to the naysayers and she keeps going right along. Whatever comes her way, she’s ready to take on and more.

What interested you in wanting to become a model?

Rachel Van Zen: I’ve always been drawn to doing anything creative.

Were you inspired by other models when you started your career?

Rachel Van Zen: Yes. Alexis Ren has always been a big inspiration to me.

When you first began modeling, did you have in mind what you wanted to accomplish or was it just random for you?

Rachel Van Zen: Kind of like everything else in my life, it’s always spontaneous.

What were some challenges that you faced and overcame during your modeling career?

Rachel Van Zen: The hate and judgment that can come with it. Some even from people you thought were your close friends.

What’s the biggest misconception about you?

Rachel Van Zen: That modeling is all I do. I am actually working on releasing some music this year.

What makes you unique and stand out from other models?

Rachel Van Zen: I am me. I’m Rachel. I’ve never met anybody else like me. I am very weird, but I’d like to believe it is in a beautiful way.
Are there any companies or publications that you would like to work with but haven’t yet?

Rachel Van Zen: Yes. Tons. I have always wanted to shoot for playboy and I want to do some more runway. I don’t focus too much on brand names etc.

Everyone sees the finished product on social media or in magazines, but what does it really take to be a model in this day and age?

Rachel Van Zen: Confidence, confidence, and some more confidence. And dedication.

When you’re faced with criticism and negativity, how do you deal with it?

Rachel Van Zen: No. I believe everything happens for a reason.

What can people expect to see from you in the future?

Rachel Van Zen: A lot more art. I have some music and music videos cooking.
