What got you interested in the adult entertainment industry?

I started when I was 18, working as an exotic dancer. It seemed like such a glamorous job, and I was tired of working my boring job at the mall. I could also make in one shift dancing what I could make in a week at my other job.

How did you get your start in the industry?

The club I danced at always had porn stars featuring. That’s how my interest began. I finally perused it when one of my coworkers actually began doing adult films. She offered to send some of my photos around. Two weeks later, I did my first magazine layout for SCORE magazine. And a few weeks after that, I started my official website sexykarenxxx.com.

Was the adult entertainment industry how you imagined it would be when you first started?

Honestly, it was a lot more work than I thought it would be. Doing photo and video shoots are hard work. I really enjoyed it, though.

Early on in your career, did you have to overcome any obstacles or face any challenges?

Honestly, I’m really shy with people I don’t know. I’ve definitely learned to come out of my shell. I still have my moments, though.

Did you set any goals for yourself that you wanted to accomplish in the industry?

When I first started, my main focus was to work as much as possible, and also save as much money as possible. For some reason, I thought I’d be an old hag at the age of 35, so I definitely took advantage of my youth. Now my main goal is to have as much fun as possible both on and off camera.

Has anything taken you by surprise while working in the industry?

How empowering it is. It’s empowering to be in control of your sexuality and live your sexual fantasies. It’s even more empowering to be financially stable and your own boss.

What’s the most difficult aspect of being in the industry?

I would say the stigma associated with being a sex worker. That’s a tough one for me personally. Also, the level of flakiness that exists in the adult industry drives me crazy.

What’s the best scene that you’ve ever done?

I would say the threesome scene I did with Alura Jenson and Johnny Sins. To this day, people still tell me how much they love that scene. It was so much fun to make, too.

Do you have a favorite position, and what kind of sex do you enjoy on and off camera? My favorite position on-camera, is doggy. As for sex in my personal life, I really love slow sensual, passionate sex. Chemistry is very important, too. I’m quite picky.

Besides a passion for sex, what does it take to have a successful career in the adult entertainment industry?

You need to be willing to work hard and come to set with a good attitude. Be on time and give it your all in every single scene.

You’re well-known for your interracial scenes that are featured on your site sexykarenxxx.comHow does it feel to know that your work is not only known but well-received?

I love it! I work hard on my website, so it feels amazing to be appreciated.

What haven’t you done yet in the industry, but would like to?

Well, I’ve never done an anal scene. Lately, I’ve been thinking that I would like to make the plunge finally.

Do you have a “no” list of things that you won’t do and/or performers that you prefer not to work with?

Yes, I do! Most female performers do, and some male performers also do.

What are some absurd things that you’ve heard about the industry that are just not true?

The first thing that comes to mind is that fluffers are a thing. I’ve never seen nor heard of such a thing. Another common misconception is the casting couch. That’s not a thing, at least not that I’ve ever heard of.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your free time?

I love to travel and adventure! I’ve been all over the world. I also enjoy outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and even just relaxing on the beach.

How do you balance your professional and private life?

I try to make sure that I make time for personal activities I want to do. I also make time to nurture personal relationships. Along with making sure I get enough “me” time. Self-care is so important. One of the good things about being self-employed is that I have a lot of control over my schedule.

Is there anything that you regret or that you would do differently in your career?

No, I’m extremely happy with my career and love working in adult and will continue working in the industry as long as my fans will have me.

What are some of your favorite moments that stand out to you during your tenure in the industry?

I’ve had so many amazing experiences, but one of the most memorable scenes I’ve ever done was for Girlfriends Films. It was my first feature, and I played a pervy psychologist. I somehow convinced one of my patients to marry me. What made it so memorable was the funny script and the wedding scene. Both myself and my wife to be were laughing hysterically the whole time.

If you were given an unlimited budget for a movie, who would you have direct, who would you cast, and what would it be about?

I would direct it. I’d like to go somewhere tropical with white sand beaches and turquoise water. Visually beautiful porn is my favorite to make. I would definitely take Alura Jenson and Maggie Green, plus I’d like to cast Siri and Sophie Dee. Maybe, we could be an island of horny busty amazon women.

What can people expect to see from you in the future?

It’s been a few years since I’ve performed for any other studios of sites—I’ve been focusing on my official website, as well as my OnlyFans, FanCentro, and clips. Fans have really been asking when they can see new scenes for major production companies. I’ve actually missed it, so I’m going to focus on doing more scenes for other studios and sites.
