Reticent: Lindsey Lamson

Lindsey Lamson is not your typical model. She’s absolutely beautiful and is currently in the process of getting a doctoral degree. Lindsey is a sweet, kind-hearted person, and her personality is buzzing with positivity. Once in a great while, there comes a woman that just blows you away, and Lindsey is that woman and so much more.

When did you get interested in modeling?

Lindsey Lamson: As a young girl, I was obsessed with getting my picture taken. I was actually scouted by a photographer when I was in elementary school. He suggested that it would be a good career for me. This set the plan in action for me.

What kind of model did you want to be when you got started?

Lindsey Lamson: I was infatuated with the high fashion models. Kate Moss and Gisele were massive idols of mine. I truly wanted to be a “supermodel.” As I got further in my modeling career, I realized I enjoy bikini modeling more.

Were there any specific challenges or setbacks that you faced while modeling?

Lindsey Lamson: I am pretty short. I am only 5’6, and I have an athletic build. This pretty much destroys my former dreams of being a “supermodel.” I also am not a fan of runway and am quite clumsy.

What’s the biggest misconception about you and modeling?

Lindsey Lamson: Most people assume I am outgoing because of my modeling. I actually am extremely shy and quiet.

What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made? (Could be an investment of money, time, energy, etc.)

Lindsey Lamson: My greatest investments have all been in furthering my education. I think it is vital for everyone to always continue learning and testing their brains. I don’t think college is the right choice for everyone, but, I do believe there are plenty of ways for people to enhance their knowledge.

What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?

Lindsey Lamson: I love to eat dinner in bed. I know it’s a bad habit, but I find I have issues sleeping otherwise.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

Lindsey Lamson: I’ve learned that I do not have to be the best at everything. I now only compete with myself and try to not compare myself to others.

When you’re not modeling, what do you like to do?

Lindsey Lamson: I love reading and studying. My favorite part of my life is spending time with my dogs.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Lindsey Lamson:  I start my day with a giant cup of coffee. Next, I head to the gym.  I work out seven days a week, sometimes twice a day. Then I either head off to school or study. After school, I will go to work or do another workout. I end my day with Netflix or a good book and snuggling my dogs. I try to fit in weekly beach trips with my dogs and lunches with my friends and family.

When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?

Lindsey Lamson: I normally will workout or read something motivating. I also like to plan a fun trip. I find if I have something to look forward to, I enjoy my day to day life more.

What haven’t you accomplished (in your life and modeling) yet, but would like to?

Lindsey Lamson: I would love to shoot in more tropical locations and with bigger brands. I also am pursuing a doctoral degree right now. I am hoping to eventually have my own practice.

What’s the biggest lesson that you’ve learned in your life?

Lindsey Lamson: If you want something, it is up to you to pursue it. Things don’t always fall in your lap. Following your dreams takes a lot of work.

What are you the proudest of with your modeling, and why?

Lindsey Lamson: I think the thing I am most proud of in my modeling career is the connections I’ve made. Some of the people I have worked with over the years have turned out to be some of my favorite people I know.

Do you have any regrets, or would you do anything differently in your modeling career?

Lindsey Lamson: I would have traveled more for modeling. I also would have done more research before signing with agencies.

What can people expect to see from you in the future?

Lindsey Lamson:  I am hoping they will see a lot more of my shoots. I would really love to get into fitness modeling.
